19th century Passata bowl from Puglia, Italy. Glazed on the interior in a pale yellow/cream colour splattered with green paint. The exterior of these bowls were always left unglazed due to their utilitarian nature. These bowls were typically used to make tomato paste ( hence the name) or to wash vegetables and olives. Each one was made by hand so are truly unique. This particular bowl is full of character from years of use. Could be used as a decorative piece or can be used domestically as still fully functional.
